To Pan Fry
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. When the pan is hot, place the frozen dumplings in a single layer, flat side down in a circular shape (or place them in two columns). Cook until the bottom of the dumplings turn golden brown, about 3-5 minutes. Add ¼ cup of water to the pan. Immediately cover with a lid and steam dumplings for about 5-7 minutes or until most of the water evaporates. Remove the lid to evaporate any remaining water. Add 1 tsp sesame oil around the frying pan. Cook uncovered until the dumplings are nice and crisp on the bottom.
To Boil
Fill a medium saucepan half way and bring to a rolling boil in high heat. Add the frozen dumplings 10 at a time with a ½ cup of cold water. Stir gently with a spatula constantly to prevent them from sticking to the bottom. Bring to a rolling boil and add the ½ cup of cold water, then bring to boil again. Cook until the dumplings are floating on top. Transfer dumplings into a bowl and serve.
To Boil then Fry
Fill a medium saucepan half way and bring to a rolling boil in high heat. Add the frozen dumplings 10 at a time with a ½ cup of cold water. Stir gently with a spatula constantly to prevent them from sticking to the bottom. Meanwhile prepare a non stick skillet with cooking oil on medium heat, once the dumplings are floating, transfer to the non stick pan with a slotted spoon, beware of oil splattering. Coat the bottom of the dumplings in oil and let sit to form a crispy bottom. Dumplings should release on their own when done.
To Steam
Boil water in a steam cooker. Line the steamer with cabbage or lettuce leaves. Place the frozen dumplings in the steamer on top of the leaves. Cover the steamer and cook approximately 10 minutes until the dumplings are done.
To Deep Fry
Heat oil to 350°F. Place 10 frozen dumplings in the heated oil (be careful of the oil splatter). Cook for 4 - 5 minutes until the dumplings turn golden brown.
To Air Fry
Preheat air fryer. Toss frozen dumplings in 1 tbsp oil. Place frozen dumplings in the basket (avoid over crowding). Air fry for 4 - 5 minutes, take out the basket, give it shake, and air fry for another 4 - 5 minutes until dumplings reaches the desired internal temperature.
